FAQs

What is "pro-fiction/pro-ship"?
This means mods do not judge contributors for the content or ships that they enjoy even if it is something we do not agree with. Participants are asked to be respectful and honor the same value. (I.E. don't like, don't read/look at.)I'm blocked and I don't know why...
While mods respect all content created, we hold the right to ban anyone from any event for the following reasons, but not limited to: harassment, racism, bigotry, plagiarism, art theft, and so on. Personal mis grievances will never be a factor.I'm a minor, can I participate?
Minors are allowed to participate in any prompt challenges posted to the main @KrbkEvents account. All works under the main account will be SFW. Any minors caught posting, sharing, or following the NSFW account will be blocked.Can I use the SFW prompts to write something NSFW?
Yes, it will just need to be shared to the NSFW account and tagged accordingly.Why do you have Twitter threads listed on the event pages?
Unlike writers where an AO3 collection can be set up to gather all the fics in one place, artists' works are scattered. In an attempt to organize all works shared to the account, a thread will be created QRT'ing all tagged works into one place so that people can scroll through and see everything that was submitted for the event.

KRBK Advent Calendar

What is an Advent Calendar?An Advent Calendar is a markdown to Christmas starting on December 1st. Generally, it is a box with small paper flaps with a treat inside that you get to open once per day. Advent Calendars have gone a more non-traditional route over the years and can now be made up of many different things, but they are all 24 days long.About:The KRBK Advent Calendar will be a voluntary project in which prompts will be suggested via an interest check and then participants will be requested to choose three of the listed prompts they would be most interested in creating for. Participants will be matched up with the prompts to create one work for each day. The matching will not be first-come-first-serve. Mods will do their best to get everyone their top choice, but depending on availability, some may be given their second or third.What can I create?Participants are allowed to create one new original piece that fits the theme of their prompt. This can be anything as long as it fits and is created by you: fanart, fanfic, mood board, cosplay, playlist, etc. Plagiarizing works of any kind will result in a ban.
Example: Of the 24 prompts listed from the Interest Check, you choose mistletoe, Christmas lights, and gift giving on your sign-up form. After going through the all the top picks requested by each participant, you receive and email stating you have been matched to do Christmas lights on December 17th. You will then be required to create one new fan work centered around KRBK and Christmas lights to post on December 17th.How do I sign up?Sign-ups will take place after our interest check period. Once the list of prompts are determined, they will be posted on the Twitter and Tumblr account for everyone to see. There will be a sign-up form available a few days later. You will be asked to select three different prompts and what type of medium you are most interested in creating. When the sign-up period ends, all participants will be emailed which prompt they were assigned.Will there be a Discord server for communication?No. This event will run more along the lines of a ship week, in which participants are free to create their work on their own time with little to no moderating involvement. There will not be a formal check-in process, though an email will go out three times during the month of November for a quick check-in.What if I need to drop out?If you can no longer create your work, please notify a mod ASAP. There will be an option on the sign-up form to mark if someone is interested in pinch hitting should someone else drop out. Please let us know if you can no longer create your work by your designated posting date so that one of the pinch hitters can be notified.Am I allowed to share previews or snippets of my work?We ask that all works be kept secret until your posting date so that the community can be surprised by the treat you are sharing with them on your advent day.When is my work due?Your work will not be due until your designated posting date. IE if your posting date is December 12th, you do not need to have your piece finished until that date. You are free to post your work any time on your designated day in your time zone.Will this be SFW, NSFW, or Problematic?This will be a SFW and all of the posting will be on the main KRBK Events account. Your account does not have to be SFW to participate.What if more than 24 people sign up? Will people be rejected?No. If we have more than 24 participants sign up, then certain days will have multiple works created. It’ll be a bonus advent treat! If someone drops out and there were two people assigned to that date, then we will not contact pinch hitters since there will still be a work shared for that day.Will there be extensions given?No. In order to have at least one work posted on each day, there will be no extensions given out. Please be mindful of what days you’ll be available for posting when selecting the prompts you’re most interested in on the sign-up form. If you cannot commit to the designated day for posting, please reach out to a mod ASAP for a pinch hitter to be secured.

KRBK Exchange

What is an exchange?
An exchange is a lot like Secret Santa. Participants get matched up to create gifts for one another over the course of several months. They then get revealed on a designated day for everyone to enjoy.What are the requirements?
Writers will create a fic with a minimum word count of 2,000 words.
Artists are to create one clean digital or traditional illustration with color flats. Black and white is fine if that is your preferred style, but it cannot be a sketch. Backgrounds are not required and the canvas size is optional.Are there any content restrictions?
No. All content will be allowed, however, you must take your giftee's likes and dislikes into consideration and also tag accordingly. If you make something specifically from their Do Not Want list, you will be banned from future exchanges.Where can we post it?
You may post your work to your platform of choice. You will just need to link it in the Discord server for your giftee to see it and for it to be shared. An AO3 collection will also be created at the time of posting.What is the schedule?
The schedule can be viewed below with posting in mid-late July.Communication?
There will be a sign-up form and matchups will be emailed to participants, but check-ins will be hosted via Discord. Each check-in will have 3 pings. One at the start of the check-in, one in the middle, and one on the last day.
If you need an extension, please reach out ASAP. If you do not turn in the form by 11:59 PM CST on the last day of the check-in and you have not requested an extension, you will be considered dropped. No DMs will be sent. Mods will not be chasing people.There will be no stealing of artwork or plagiarizing fics. If you are found to have stolen work, it will be an immediate ban from this and all future events. No generated images (AI) will be allowed. All works must be your own creation.
